Etowah Valley Golf and Resort
By Brian Weis
Rated one of the best golf resorts in North Carolina, Etowah Valley offers classic mountain golf at its finest. Our three distinct nine hole courses offer a great variety to golfers of all skill levels. Between wide, forgiving fairways with moderate elevation changes, to tight and technical dog-legs that wrap-around a large lake, Etowah Valley has enough variety for all golfers to enjoy! We also have a driving range, two practice putting greens, and many on-site golf pros for people looking to brush up their golf skills with a quick lesson before hitting the links!
Located directly on-site, our 65 lodge rooms offer modern amenities in a serene environment, surrounded by lush vegetation from April - Mid-August, and breath-taking Autumn leaves from late-August-mid-November. All rooms have been recently renovated, with either two queen beds or one king in all rooms. Additionally, all of our units have a large balcony overlooking our golf course, a great place to start your day or wind down in the evening. Our two on-site cottages also offer fantastic views of our course, and can be great gathering areas for larger groups. Zeke's, our on-site restaurant/bar, specializes in fresh, locally sourced food, with menu items ranging from salmon patties, to chicken tenders, to a prime rib special on Friday nights! Our newly renovated bar area always has a variety of bottled and draft beers to choose from, as well as an extensive wine list and cocktail menu. Guests frequently enjoy the great views and live music of our outdoor patio, which is located directly outside of our restaurant/bar area.
Imagine a place in the Southern Highlands where the Great Smoky Mountains weave through the Southern Blue Ridge, creating a scenic plateau 2,200 feet high and 75 miles wide. Here, golf fairways wind like ribbons along rolling valleys, with awe-inspiring mountain views. The unique terrain and ideal climate inspired noted golf course architect Edmund Ault to shape the valley into one of the South's finest championship courses. Combining with the spectacular countryside, our moderate summer temperatures (average high in the mid-80s) make us a great get-away destination in the Summer months. Etowah Valley is located a short 15 minute drive from popular tourist attractions such as Sliding Rock, the Davidson River, and the French Broad River, making us popular not only with golf groups, but also with family vacations looking to escape the brutal southern heat. Our on-site pool and restaurants also offer guests the ability to sit back, relax, and never have to leave the property for the duration of their stay.
Etowah Valley Golf and Resort hosts a wide variety of groups every year. From corporate retreats, to family reunions, to golf groups big and small, we offer something that every type of group can enjoy! With two outdoor fire pits, horse shoes, corn hole, an outdoor pavilion, practice putting greens, and much more, Etowah Valley consistently impresses guests from all walks of life, with our many options of on-site entertainment. However, the one thing that keeps our guests continually coming back (some groups for 40+ years!) is our legendary service. We strive every day, in every way, to provide guests with an unparalleled level of service. From our knowledgeable golf staff who enjoy giving tips to players, exemplary service staff, and a front desk/concierge service that will stop at nothing to meet your needs, our southern hospitality is sure to leave you impressed!

Brian had a zero chance for a college golf scholarship, so he worked on the grounds crew at West Bend Country Club to pay for his University of Wisconsin education. In his adult years, his passion for the game collided with his entrepreneurial spirit and in 2004 launched GolfWisconsin.com. In 2007, the idea for a network of local golf directory sites formed and GolfTrips.com was born. Today, the network consists of a site in all 50 states supported by national sites like GolfTrips.com, GolfGuide.com and GolfPackages.com. It is an understatement to say, Brian is passionate about promoting golf and golf travel on a local, regional, national and international level.
On the golf course, Brian is known as a fierce weekend warrior that fluctuates between a 5-9 handicap. With a soft fade, known as "The Weis Slice", and booming 300+ drives, he can blast it out of bounds with the best of them.
